Matthew began his career writing sketches and co-presenting ‘Gimme 5’, a network wide Saturday morning show for CITV.
Matthew also co-created, wrote and presented the character of Flynn for ‘50/50’ on CBBC and worked on the show for three years.
Matthew worked with Aardman Animations on Series 2 of the multi award winning 'Creature Comforts’ (ITV1+2).
He
presented weekday Breakfast at BBC Tees (May 06 – July 08). Rajar
showed an increase in listenership by more than 20%! He was honoured to
win a BBC National Award for Best Breakfast Show (Gold)
at the BBC ‘Frank Gillard Awards’. The category was hotly contested
with all BBC local radio stations submitting entries. Judges described
Matthew as “confident and highly competent.” Apart from the news element
to the programme, Matthew wrote all his material.
Matthew was also part of the presentation team who won a Sony (Gold) for a programme on President Bush’s visit to Mr Blair’s then constituency. He has also contributed to output on the World Service and Radio 4. Matthew has also won 'Presenter of the Year'. (Gillards - Gold).
Matthew
has had a successful television career in children's broadcasting.
Highlights included dancing (badly) with Take That. Other TV credits
include Superchamps (action / games) and Teen, Win Lose or Draw (team captain / game).
He co-presented Action Time (Social action) and fronted New Visions (film) as well as Out and About on BBC ONE (regional). Matthew also wrote and presented two regular features for Tyne Tees, Matt’s Movie’s and What’s On Café and has contributed to several other TV programmes.
He’s fronted an international TV ad campaign for Nestlés Multi Cheerio’s and has done numerous voice-overs for many different clients.
Matthew took part in 'Stand Up for Comic Relief' and
performed at the Komedia in Brighton, helping to raise several thousand
pounds for the charity. He was helped with advice from Jo Brand, Hugh
Dennis and Jon Culshaw.
Matthew currently presents his own Saturday show on BBC Radio Kent. (available on BBC iplayer).
